Forget 1992 vs 2012 – Who would win, the 1992 Dream Team or 12 Lebron James clones

We all know that Kobe Bryant’s statement that the 2012 US Olympics Men’s Basketball team beating 1992’s “Dream Team” was laughable. It’d have been an uphill climb enough if the 2012 team was fully healthy, but without Dwight Howard, Dwyane Wade and Derrick Rose, 3 of its superstars, any shot went out the door.

A better question perhaps is who would win a match between the Dream Team and 12 clones of the 2012’s team’s best player, Lebron James.

12 Lebrons would be a fearsome team to face. First and foremost they would be the most dynamic transition scoring team the earth has ever seen. Every time the Dream Team turned the ball over, 5 superhuman forces would charge down the court with superhuman speed, size, ballhandling, passing and decision making. Any odd man rush would be near impossible to stop. Because the Lebrons would all be excellent rebounders, they would also start these breaks off miss shots constantly. The Dream Team would be facing an uphill battle off the start just due to the immense amounts of fastbreak points they’d face from the Lebrons. In the halfcourt the Lebrons would have 5 players who can shoot out to the 3 – Despite it initially seeming like 5 on ball Lebrons would be weak spacing, the fact that regular teams don’t traditionally have more than 2 or 3 outside shooters on the team, especially from the PF/C spots, would mean the Lebrons may actually have better spacing than a normal team.
